Aromas of bright boysenberry, blood plums and liquorice. Classy oak adds mocha and spice to palate that’s bursting with luscious fruit. Medium bodied with soft tannins and a lingering finish. Best fruit selected and hand plunged. Shiraz grapes from a select part of our best block. Berries kept whole with 30% whole bunches added to build complexity. Fermented in small open fermenters and hand plunged. Matured in a French hogsheads of which 40% were new. Tasting Intense and complex. Blackberries, cherries and figs combine with liquorice, mocha, star anise and hint of black-pepper. There's underlying power here - fruit depth and fine tannins work in sink - but also a freshness that keeps it elegant and refined. Oak integrates beautifully and the finish is super long. Serious, but delicious Shiraz that will age well.
